Went to shoot a bikini fashion show at Ala Moana with Josh. Missed shooting it by the slimmest of margins, delayed by some idiot kook with a digital trying to take a shot of my camera lens.
Bummed for having missed the show (seriously, it ran for like 50 seconds, just about the margin of time that DORK delayed me.) I sulked about, leaving Josh to sweet talk the changing models at the store as I got something to drink. I went further than I expected, passing the Court of Food and found an ABC store.
Walking back this girl in a Superman T-shirt eating an ice cream cone passed by, and the brief glimpse of her stuck in my mind as I kept walking. Taking a few more steps I spun around and caught up to her, and did a quick ask if I could shoot a frame of her style. She said yes and three or four frames later I said thanks and continued on, my mood improving by the step.
I like her cute sense of girlish confidence, the Superman motif playing off the ice cream cone.
Meanwhile back at the store, Josh was holding court with the gaggle of models prancing about nearly naked. He convinced me to pose for a shot in the lights, and while posing with my camera I got a shot of him in his “Intimidating Studio Photographer” mode.
Later, in the Court of Food, I did a Robert Frank type shot of Today’s Teens, texting and hanging with style.
All the above shot with the Nikon F5 and the Nikkor N 35mm f/1.4, which the photo-dork would have realized if he had any smarts to ask.
Shot on Fuji Superia 200 and fittingly processed at the mall while we waited. At the Mall.
